Rozi (pronounced "Rosie") Baker is a stage and screen actress who made her Broadway Debut, at age 10, on July 15, 2009 in Shrek, the Musical where she performed the roles of “Young Fiona/Young Shrek/Dwarf”, until the show closed on January 3, 2010.

Rozi was initially inspired to pursue a Broadway career in order to play Jane Banks in MARY POPPINS. She achieved that goal in April of 2010, and loved every performance, with her Mary Poppins family, right through her last one on Oct. 30, 2011, at the New Amsterdam Theatre in Times Square!

On Nov. 3, she began rehearsing BONNIE AND CLYDE, where she was the standby for the role of Young Bonnie. Though the show opened Dec. 1, 2011, and closed on Dec. 30th, Rozi loved the piece, and it was another honor and dream come true, to see a Broadway show in the making, and to be part of the uber-talented original cast! Meeting this amazing creative team, and watching director Jeff Calhoun in action was truly inspiring! (Hear Rozi sing Picture Show by clicking the mp3 player on her Bonnie & Clyde photos page.)

Rozi has been very active, developing roles in new musical works. In 2010 and 2011, Rozi was honored to play the role of Dani in staged readings of Kooman & Dimond’s Dani Girl, at the Cherry Lane Theatre and at the NAMT presentations, directed by Scott Schwartz. Also in 2010 and 2011, she was thrilled to develop the role of Winnie in the staged readings and the Broadway Lab of Miller, Tysen & Shear’s Tuck Everlasting, which were directed by Casey Nickolaw.

In 2012, Rozi played Jane in the reading/filming of SECONDHAND LIONS, where she met and worked with more amazing talents, including, Michael Weiner, Alan Zachary and the legendary Sir Rupert Holmes! Shortly after that, she played Cary in LITTLE MISS FIX-IT, by Kirsten Guenther and Joy Son, in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Underground Reading Series with Eli Gonda at the helm.

In March of 2012, she took part in a real adventure, as she helped to develop the role of Opal in the lab of BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE, where she got to train with Bill Berloni and two huge, Irish Wolf Hounds and try on the music of Duncan Sheik and words of Nell Benjamin, while being directed by John Tartaglia!

Rozi was delighted to find herself working, this year, on MAKE ME BAD, (Gasparini/Brightman) directed by Daniel Goldstein and produced by the Benge Group and ALIVE IN THE WORLD (Paul Scott Goodman) directed by Kurt Deutsch.

The video at the top of this page, is Rozi's performance with her very talented friends, Matthew Gumley and Kelsey Fowler in the WHEN I GROW UP: BROADWAY'S NEXT GENERATION cabaret, produced by Van Dean and the Broadway Consortium, directed by Kenny Howard. This concert was recorded and released on the Broadway Records label!
